Congratulations to Heck, recently crowned the champion of champions at The Grocer’s New Product Awards 2021.
The Yorkshire-based brand’s Simply Chicken mince scored higher than any other product in the entire competition.
Heck launched its trio of seasoned chicken mince lines last year, including the Simply Chicken mince, based on its existing chicken sausages. Heck co-founder Jamie Keeble claimed the NPD represented a first for multiple supermarkets, with chicken mince previously only available from butcher shops or from specialist fitness sites. The product is high protein, gluten-free and low in fat.

Congratulations to Heck for being hailed Champion of champions. Heck is a great example that building brands is still a powerful way to create a successful business, from small beginnings Heck is now a true success story. It illustrates powerfully some of the ingredients of brand success – a strong brand story, authenticity, an outstanding product relevant to today’s priorities, available to shoppers where they want to buy, convenient for the user (the cook) and delicious for the consumer.
