Last week saw the completion of the first Modular GSCOP Training of the year, provided by the British Brands Group. The program was delivered virtually via Microsoft Teams. It was a highly interactive course using engaging tools and case studies.

Prework was provided to help delegates familiarise themselves with the role of the GCA and the background to GSCOP regulation. The training was delivered via two virtual 2½ hour classroom sessions. This enables delegates to accommodate training around their heavy workloads.

Session 1 commences with a GSCOP Quiz to ensure a base level understanding and an explanation of the scope of the Code. Delegates were then taken through a step-by-step review of the Code with breakouts to enable conversation and better understanding of the detail.

Session 2 continues to explore the elements of the Code and then provides delegates with interesting, realistic and relevant case studies for them to navigate and check on their understanding. They also learn how they can leverage the Code to support their businesses and escalate issues to find a workable resolution for all parties.

The feedback from the delegates was fantastic:

  • ‘A compact overview of the code’
  • ‘Very useful when dealing with retailers in various roles’
  • ‘Great examples that brought code to life and made the whole training experience more interesting’

Delegates stated that they would definitely recommend the training to their colleagues. Across the 7 success factors measured the overall score was 4.8 out of 5!
