Babylicious
Being a mother and a food scientist proved to be the perfect combination when Sally Preston founded Babylicious. She had experienced for herself the time constraints which compel many busy mothers to buy ready-made food for their children when they would really rather be making their own meals from scratch. But what was on offer in the shops made her realise that tasty baby food, made from wholesome ingredients, and free from salt and additives, didn’t really exist.
Having spotted the gap in the market, she created a range of frozen baby and toddler meals, which taste home-made and contain no junk. Mothers have long been making food in bulk, reducing it to purée and freezing small portions in ice cube trays for future use. Sally took this concept and replicated it using fast-freezing technology. All meals are Snap-Frozen™ into Easi-Pop™ trays. As a result, there is less food wastage, as mums use exactly what they need, and more nutrients are retained due to the fast-freezing process. Now they are able to give their children nutritious, tasty meals from the start with the added bonus that all the time-consuming work has been done for them.
